Comparing fees only makes sense after you know whether a jurisdiction uses a general licence, no general licence, an activity-specific licence or a local exception. Use this page to identify the licence pattern before you compare prices, claim an exemption or open a checkout.

The national pattern is state-led. The Australian Government points recreational fishers to state and territory rule pages for day-to-day management, so there is no single Australia-wide recreational fishing licence.

Licence vs permit vs no-general-licence
