ACT Fishing Licence Check: Canberra, Googong and Beginner Gear

Before buying ACT gear

For ordinary ACT public waters, there is no general ACT recreational fishing licence. That answer changes if the trip is to Googong Reservoir, where the NSW recreational fishing fee or an exemption applies.

Check the water first: Canberra public lake, trout water, prohibited water, Lake Burley Griffin or Googong. Then buy simple rod-and-line gear that fits that location.
